TherapyIt feels very pleasant when your mind (conscious mind) and body (subconscious mind) want the same thing. However, if that is not your experience at the moment, therapy can help you work out a new way of being in the world. Can you remember who helped you learn to ride a bike? No one can teach you how to do it, you just have to keep at it until something clicks, but it sure is handy to have someone there to keep the bike steady for you while you're learning! A therapist has to be someone you can trust, someone that has the necessary skills and abilities to keep you on the right track while you work out a new way of being in the world. You know the feelingYou know where you want to be but you can't get motivated. Why does this keep happening? What is stopping you from getting the great life you deserve? The answer is in the organisation of the human brain. We like to think of our mind as a single, rational entity. The truth is much more complex.
The SubconsciousThe mind has two major parts: the conscious and the subconscious. The conscious mind is the bit we use to think through a problem. The subconscious is where our feelings, beliefs and memories reside, and this part of our brain does not use logic — it 'thinks' symbolically. It's obvious when you think about it. We eat too much because we enjoy it, even though we know it's bad for us. We don't get the work done because there's something else to do which we will enjoy more, even though we know we should. We want the promotion and the extra money, but we don't believe we are ready for the responsibility. And so on. Can't be Bothered?You know the situation; there's a good, logical reason for doing something, but there's some part of you that just can't be bothered. Is It That Easy?The solution is to go to someone that understands how the subconscious works, and they can help you to get where you want to be in a way that is going to satisfy both parts of your brain. The therapist that knows how the subconscious mind works can help you get both parts of your brain working to the same agenda. Think of the changes you could then make!

He is a Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and a Practitioner in Time-Line Therapy.
