General Statement of Policy

Our site links primarily for traffic; we do not link only for rankings. We understand that all visitors leave our site at some point, and we choose to send them to quality link partners as well as back to the search engines.

We advertise ALL our link partners clearly, visibly and in an organised way. This is how we will advertise your site, all we ask is the same amount of clarity and exposure in return.

Clarity and Exposure

We require your link section to be clearly visible from at least your home page and preferably every page of your site.

Unless you only have one links page with less than forty links, your links page must be organised into appropriate categories. We no longer exchange with sites that have over forty links on one page.

Similarly, categories should have meaningful names to aid the user. For example, we do not exchange links with sites whose categories are listed as 'partners 1' or 'resources 3' etc.

We require your link section to be on the same URL/domain as the rest of your site. For example, if your home page is http://www.your-site-url.co.uk/index.htm, then an acceptable link page might be http://www.your-site-url.co.uk/links.htm

We do not exchange with script links such as visit.php?cid=1&lid=181.

Google Page Rank

• Obviously, the higher the PR the better.
• The quality of content (as perceived by the people that do the linking) is the crucial factor in determining PR.
• Links between web sites are a good thing for everyone, in general.
• However, links to much bigger sites (more pages) or much smaller sites (less pages) are a bad thing.
• Sites that have a minimum PR requirement tend to have a higher PR on the home page but a lower mean PR and hence a much lower PR on the link page, and are therefore generally bad news in terms of linking.

Therefore we welcome applications from sites of roughly the same size (this site currently has 58 content pages).

We do not link with...

• Web sites that have a minimum PR requirement for linking
• Sites that have too many links on a page
• Sites that do not have well organised links pages
• Drugs/Pharmaceuticals/Complementary Medicines
• Gambling
• Adult/Pornographic/Dating
